Mystery School Video Game!? Would you play? This isn't just a Game...
This is a Preliminary "Mystery School Simulator" Video Game Outline and Definately a Very Rough Sketch of Ideas that will shortly become much more formed...

This game can have many levels of depth and information depending on how far along a player has progressed in the 'real world'. Each player could log on through the internet allowing the mainframe to recognize who in signing in to play and if they are a RMMS student the system can know how far along they are in the initiatory process (in real life) and if they have taken certain classes or recieved initiations the system brings up the complete teachings that they have already recieved in the physical... if they have not recieved that information they get a 'lite' version of the teachings - basically information you can find within the public domain but without any keys or deeper teachings. This allows anyone to play the game all the way through but those who have recieved these teachings can use the game as a comprehensive study and learning tool. Because of new Bio-Feedback computer game systems it is now possible to add a whole new level of game and training to our physical experience of the computer simulated scenario. The idea is that all these depths and features would be optional. So one could just buy the basic game and go home and play a very 'lite' and symbolic version of the story or you could log in and play deeper level with others at your level or you can add additional technology and expand your experience of the game, etc. Many Levels!

You have 3 meters in the bottom of the screen
Red Health Meter: 0 - 100, gives you the condition of your PHYSICAL BODY.
Green Abundance Meter: 0 - 100, gives you the amount of MONEY in your pocket
Indigo Psychic/Energy Meter: 0 - 100, gives you the condition of your PSYCHIC ABILITY.
You have 4 additional Meters on a sub screen which shows all seven... ( -100 - 0 - +100)
Violet Empowerment Meter : 0 - 100, gives you the amount of POWER, chi force, persuasion, etc.
Indigo Psychic/Energy Meter: 0 - 100, gives you the condition of your PSYCHIC ABILITY.
Blue Communication Meter: 0 - 100, gives you the level of COMMUNICATION attained.
Green Abundance Meter: -100 _0 _ +100, the amount or debt of MONEY in your pocket.
Yellow Ego Meter: -100 _0 _ +100, gives you the pos. or neg. value of your EGO.
Orange Karma Meter: -100 _0 _ +100, gives you the pos. or neg. value of your KARMA.
Red Health Meter: 0 - 100, gives you the health and condition of your PHYSICAL BODY.
You have a total of 5 Subscreens:
1. Chakras and Meters... The 7 chakras are shown and indicate the "openess" of each. Next to each chakra is the corresponding meter described above.
2. Tools...
Wand, Arthame, Chalis, Pentacles, Bell and Dorje, mortar and pestal, crystals and stones, etc...
3. Maps...
4. Contracts, Missions, etc...
Status, progress in game, progress on a particular mission, etc.
5. The GRIMOIRE
The place to store information you would like to keep... (plus ability to "print" these pages.) Rituals, 'Magic Words', Much of the information recieved must be recorded to be referred to later in the game.
Step 5: The Adventure Begins...
Level One:
The preliminary Movie begins the story with you in a dream... in the dream a young child version of your self with a glowing aura pulls you out of a dark chaos (shadowy city/jungle/arms grabbing) and into a clear celestial space and giggles as you look around in awe. You notice something in this child's eyes and squat/kneel down to look closer... the child and you are eye to eye and then the child leans forward and touches his/her 3rd eye to yours. At that moment there is a great burst of light, and you see snipits in fast forward and or reverse of various moments throughout the game... It all comes so fast you can't quite understand any of it... The child giggles and you see the child in front of you again. he/she hugs you and runs away and disappears. You are left alone for a moment... And then you wake up, a little in awe and confused.
Now you are in your house... there's lots to do here. You can change clothes, eat and rest to improve health meter, pick up and drop off tools that are too big to carry all the time, pick up and drop off money in safe, etc.
You need to go Outside in order for anything to actually happen or move forward in the game.
When you go outside you can meet all kinds of people... some can help you solve problems, some have problems that you can help solve, some will give you things, some will try to trick you or steal from you so use judgement wisely.
If you help people your karma meter goes up and your negative ego goes down/positive Ego goes up. Some will pay you as well. If you don't help others when you should your negative ego and goes up/ pos. down and the Karma meter goes down.
As your Indigo/ Psychic meter goes up you will be able to recieve more information and read everyones aura better so you will be able to see more clearly who wants to help you, who honestly needs help, and who is trying to trick you or others. You also will have more psychic connection with others and all things.
You can fight with others though if you get hurt your health goes considerably lower, and you run the rist of injuring, killing, or at least disrespecting someone who could help you but after a fight won't. Some battles must be fought, others could be negotiated or avoided. You will need to develop both Martial Arts, Self Defense, and Battle techniques as well as Communication Skills and know when to use which.
You can learn multiple languages, modern and ancient. As you do your communication meter increases. You can also learn "communication skills" in English that will increase the communication meter and broaden your choices of dialogue when talking to others to allow for more various and benificial outcomes in conversation.
As you advance in the game your magical Power meter increases giving your intention more power in magical work as well as influencing others and reality around you.
The Sanctuary Meditation:
One of the people that you can help happens to be an initiate and in return for your assistance will offer to guide you through the Sanctuary meditation to get in contact with your higher self. You do this in real time as a private meditation (with assistance from W.D. Biofeedback). Once you have successfully completed this meditation and developed your own Sanctuary you will then be prompted to select the closest likeness to your own private creation from a group of predesigned options. This will become a "location" in the game that you can always instantly return to.
Options for Location:
Mountain Top, Valley, Beach, Desert, Forest, Outer Space...
Options for Walls, Altar, and Doorways:
Stone, Wood, Marble, Precious Metals/Stones, Technological...
Options for Key:
Skeleton, Modern, Dial, Swipe Card...
You will then have to pick up the key walk over to your "higher self door" and open it allowing a super-spiritual-hero version of yourself to enter. You then talk to your higher self; you can ask for advice for where you are at this point in the game, you can ask for tools or protection (this develops more later in the game), or you can ask your higher self to invite your guides to come in and give you advice (slightly different than advice from Higher Self), or you can ask your higher self to invite other spiritual teacher for various teachings, or you can ask your higher self to take you somewhere in the upper spiritual dimmensions. This final option would have very few choices at the begining of the game but more as spiritual development continues, one of the choices can be to "let my higher self choose for me" at which point the computer "randomly" selects one of perhaps 100s of preset options.
Eventually you must return to Earth and continue on the path though you can return to your sanctuary for guidance at any point in the game .
After completing enough 'good tasks' for others (so that your karma meter is conciderably up) and if you have completed the sanctuary meditation you can move on to the next level.
Level 2:
Now you can find a 'Teacher' who will offer to teach you about 'SACRED GEOMETRY'
(this will cost money or you must complete 'task/favors' for energy exchange)
You watch a short movie than runs through the basics of Sacred Geometry. You then are guided through a series of meditations (using the biofeedback system to ensure proper focus) including the dot on the wall and the three keys to heaven. You also must solve puzzles that test your knowledge and understanding of the 5 platonic solids, the golden mean spiral, fractals, and vibration pattern in nature and the universe. You also learn how to draw the Flower of Life, and other Sacred Geometric designs.
Next you can learn about 'ASTRAL TRAVEL'
(this will cost money or you must complete 'task/favors' for energy exchange)
Again you watch a short movie outlining the reasons, 'rules', and other basics of astral travel. You are then guided through a journey with the biofeedback system. This class clearly maps out the 7 spiritual dimensions.
Now you are ready for 'GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT'
(this will cost money or you must complete 'task/favors' for energy exchange)
You watch a short movie about channeling and are guided through a quiz to help determine your strongest spiritual gifts. This class clearly maps out the 12 physical dimensions and the inner aspects of oneself that one can 'visit' for information.
Finally you are invited to recieve your 'ADEPT INITIATION'
(this will cost money or you must complete 'task/favors' for energy exchange)

At this point you get a significant boost to your Empowerment Meter allowing you to move on to the next level.
Level 3:
Now you get invited to UTAH or JAPAN for the 'TEACHER TRAINING' program.
(this will cost money or you must complete 'task/favors' for energy exchange')

After completing Teacher Training you will get another significant boost to your empowerment meter are then encouraged to start your own light center. If you advertise and talk to people (in effective ways) you can bring in clients who will pay for healing and empowerment services.
Level 4:
Now you are invited to 'RITUAL MASTER' program. (and begins the international travel phase)
Begin by meeting the Shamans... might be celtic, native american, south american, african etc. After watching a short introduction by the shamans you are invited to attend a ceremony where certain rites including offerings, dancing, and tribal customs are honored and displayed. The shaman initiation includes tribal testing, development of martial arts, and fear crossing.
Then introduction to Egyptian Magick... after watching a brief introduction into the characters of the Egyptian Pantheon and history of their magickal workings you are invited to pass through the pyramids in an action adventure/ puzzle solving mission culminating in an Osiris or Isis Temple Ritual.
Then intro to Hermetic Magick... after watching a brief intro to the symbolism and history of Hermeticsm you are invited to study in ancient libraries of Europe. There are many puzzles and corellations to find and solve as well as sword and weapons (ancient) training and eventually will lead to an invitation to attend a ritual ceremony performed by the ancient brotherhoods in Europe where you will be 'knighted' and given your sword in a Ritual Master Initiation Ceremony
Level 5:
Now you must return home and put to use all that you have learned in service to humanity.
After teaching and offering service your Karma meter is significantly higher you are invited to become a Guide. Your empowerment meter goes up considerably and you will also have more people coming to you for help and or requiring your attention - if you don't help them then you karma meter will drop... there is more responsibility than irrelevent choice at this level of service.
Level 6:
This level begins with a RITUAL MASTER 2.0 Initiation...
Many challenges will arise for you to work through but also many opportunities if you see them.
At this level you attend the 'Warriors of Light Training' including advanced martial arts and fighting skills, advanced (modern) weapons training, as well as spiritual 'battle' tools, rules for engagement, demon training, 'Gate' work, and survival skills.
Level 7:
This level begin with a RITUAL MASTER 2.5 Initiation...
At this level there is a further development of your magickal powers and connection to angelic and galactic forces.
Includes an introduction to Enochian Magick... after watching a brief introduction there are complex charts, sigils, and ceremonies to complete, and perform including proper pronounciation (possible voice recognition?)
Also greater connection and education from Higher Self and Spiritual Dimmensions. There is a dramatic increase in Magickal Power during this level that will effect others and all of reality around you in new ways.
Also includes introduction to Adam Kadmon, the Nathor Teachings, and culminates in the A.K. Gate / 24-DNA Activation for a mega-empowerment.
Secret Level:
If you know where to go and what to say to to the right people you can now have access to the secret libraries of ancient wisdom and knowledge. This is purely a research endeavor but a great opportunity to fill your grimoire with possibly useful material.
Level 8:
At this level it is important to learn how to most effectively use your magickal powers. By now you understand that you are a potent creator in your own reality and you conciously work with this. You also will have higher level tests and challenges to overcome. When you do so you will be Initiated a 3rd DEGREE RITUAL MASTER!
This level includes an introduction to Goetian Magick as well as Advanced Training in Egyptian, Hermetic Magick, and Enochian Magick. You begin to perform in the role of High Priest/Priestess during ceremony.
Level 9:
This level is a in depth focus on the ADAM KADMON Energy, the advanced Nathor Teachings, and assimilation of those teachings into daily life. This level is all about putting it all into practice and actually BEING a divine super god-human (not just study or know about them). There are no puzzles to solve or lessons to 'learn'... there are actions to take, and new ways of being with self and others to live by.
Level 10:
This is the ultimate level when all that you have learned will be put to the test as the 'End Times Prophesies' comes to a head and the culminating battles between 'light and shadow' and 'good and evil' come to conclusion with you as a central figure in these adventures as your heroic ASCENDED MASTER Archetypal Self. (more details to come)
Epilogue:
This is a lofty goal but the conclusion should be that you are able to program your own universe as a CREATOR GOD.... humm... we'll see what the computer programers think about that!?

This will become a "location" in the game that you can always instantly return to.
Options for Location:
Mountain Top, Valley, Beach, Desert, Forest, Outer Space...
Options for Walls, Altar, and Doorways:
Stone, Wood, Marble, Precious Metals/Stones, Technological...
Options for Key:
Skeleton, Modern, Dial, Swipe Card...
You will then have to pick up the key walk over to your "higher self door" and open it allowing a super-spiritual-hero version of yourself to enter. You then talk to your higher self; you can ask for advice for where you are at this point in the game, you can ask for tools or protection (this develops more later in the game), or you can ask your higher self to invite your guides to come in and give you advice (slightly different than advice from Higher Self), or you can ask your higher self to invite other spiritual teacher for various teachings, or you can ask your higher self to take you somewhere in the upper spiritual dimmensions. This final option would have very few choices at the begining of the game but more as spiritual development continues, one of the choices can be to "let my higher self choose for me" at which point the computer "randomly" selects one of perhaps 100s of preset options.
Eventually you must return to Earth and continue on the path though you can return to your sanctuary for guidance at any point in the game .
After completing enough 'good tasks' for others (so that your karma meter is conciderably up) and if you have completed the sanctuary meditation you can move on to the next level.
Level 2:
Now you can find a 'Teacher' who will offer to teach you about 'SACRED GEOMETRY'
(this will cost money or you must complete 'task/favors' for energy exchange)
You watch a short movie than runs through the basics of Sacred Geometry. You then are guided through a series of meditations (using the biofeedback system to ensure proper focus) including the dot on the wall and the three keys to heaven. You also must solve puzzles that test your knowledge and understanding of the 5 platonic solids, the golden mean spiral, fractals, and vibration pattern in nature and the universe. You also learn how to draw the Flower of Life, and other Sacred Geometric designs.
Next you can learn about 'ASTRAL TRAVEL'
(this will cost money or you must complete 'task/favors' for energy exchange)
Again you watch a short movie outlining the reasons, 'rules', and other basics of astral travel. You are then guided through a journey with the biofeedback system. This class clearly maps out the 7 spiritual dimensions.
Now you are ready for 'GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT'
(this will cost money or you must complete 'task/favors' for energy exchange)
You watch a short movie about channeling and are guided through a quiz to help determine your strongest spiritual gifts. This class clearly maps out the 12 physical dimensions and the inner aspects of oneself that one can 'visit' for information.
Finally you are invited to recieve your 'ADEPT INITIATION'
(this will cost money or you must complete 'task/favors' for energy exchange)

At this point you get a significant boost to your Empowerment Meter allowing you to move on to the next level.
Level 3:
Now you get invited to UTAH or JAPAN for the 'TEACHER TRAINING' program.
(this will cost money or you must complete 'task/favors' for energy exchange')

After completing Teacher Training you will get another significant boost to your empowerment meter are then encouraged to start your own light center. If you advertise and talk to people (in effective ways) you can bring in clients who will pay for healing and empowerment services.
Level 4:
Now you are invited to 'RITUAL MASTER' program. (and begins the international travel phase)
Begin by meeting the Shamans... might be celtic, native american, south american, african etc. After watching a short introduction by the shamans you are invited to attend a ceremony where certain rites including offerings, dancing, and tribal customs are honored and displayed. The shaman initiation includes tribal testing, development of martial arts, and fear crossing.
Then introduction to Egyptian Magick... after watching a brief introduction into the characters of the Egyptian Pantheon and history of their magickal workings you are invited to pass through the pyramids in an action adventure/ puzzle solving mission culminating in an Osiris or Isis Temple Ritual.
Then intro to Hermetic Magick... after watching a brief intro to the symbolism and history of Hermeticsm you are invited to study in ancient libraries of Europe. There are many puzzles and corellations to find and solve as well as sword and weapons (ancient) training and eventually will lead to an invitation to attend a ritual ceremony performed by the ancient brotherhoods in Europe where you will be 'knighted' and given your sword in a Ritual Master Initiation Ceremony
Level 5:
Now you must return home and put to use all that you have learned in service to humanity.
After teaching and offering service your Karma meter is significantly higher you are invited to become a Guide. Your empowerment meter goes up considerably and you will also have more people coming to you for help and or requiring your attention - if you don't help them then you karma meter will drop... there is more responsibility than irrelevent choice at this level of service.
Level 6:
This level begins with a RITUAL MASTER 2.0 Initiation...
Many challenges will arise for you to work through but also many opportunities if you see them.
At this level you attend the 'Warriors of Light Training' including advanced martial arts and fighting skills, advanced (modern) weapons training, as well as spiritual 'battle' tools, rules for engagement, demon training, 'Gate' work, and survival skills.
Level 7:
This level begin with a RITUAL MASTER 2.5 Initiation...
At this level there is a further development of your magickal powers and connection to angelic and galactic forces.
Includes an introduction to Enochian Magick... after watching a brief introduction there are complex charts, sigils, and ceremonies to complete, and perform including proper pronounciation (possible voice recognition?)
Also greater connection and education from Higher Self and Spiritual Dimmensions. There is a dramatic increase in Magickal Power during this level that will effect others and all of reality around you in new ways.
Also includes introduction to Adam Kadmon, the Nathor Teachings, and culminates in the A.K. Gate / 24-DNA Activation for a mega-empowerment.
Secret Level:
If you know where to go and what to say to to the right people you can now have access to the secret libraries of ancient wisdom and knowledge. This is purely a research endeavor but a great opportunity to fill your grimoire with possibly useful material.
Level 8:
At this level it is important to learn how to most effectively use your magickal powers. By now you understand that you are a potent creator in your own reality and you conciously work with this. You also will have higher level tests and challenges to overcome. When you do so you will be Initiated a 3rd DEGREE RITUAL MASTER!
This level includes an introduction to Goetian Magick as well as Advanced Training in Egyptian, Hermetic Magick, and Enochian Magick. You begin to perform in the role of High Priest/Priestess during ceremony.
Level 9:
This level is a in depth focus on the ADAM KADMON Energy, the advanced Nathor Teachings, and assimilation of those teachings into daily life. This level is all about putting it all into practice and actually BEING a divine super god-human (not just study or know about them). There are no puzzles to solve or lessons to 'learn'... there are actions to take, and new ways of being with self and others to live by.
Level 10:
This is the ultimate level when all that you have learned will be put to the test as the 'End Times Prophesies' comes to a head and the culminating battles between 'light and shadow' and 'good and evil' come to conclusion with you as a central figure in these adventures as your heroic ASCENDED MASTER Archetypal Self. (more details to come)
Epilogue:
This is a lofty goal but the conclusion should be that you are able to program your own universe as a CREATOR GOD.... humm... we'll see what the computer programers think about that!?

I would ask what effect this would have on someone in terms of how it would change their view of the MS or any spiritual path. Is it all just a game? That idea would anchor itself into some people's minds. Also, the goal-oriented aspect of video games makes it all about the end product...is it just about getting to the next leve or getting the next initiation? Of course we would all say no, of course not, but to some (I repeat, some) people that is how their minds tend to be structured....very goal oriented, and that is not what the MS is about (at least to me).
There is also the idea of breaking this path down into such concrete levels and terms. Is it that simple? Taking a path and tradition and representing it in such ways? Is that cheapening it?
This all depends on who this game would be available to. I cant really see initiates having a misunderstanding of what the mystery school is all about, but if someone were introduced to the MS through a video game, I could see them not taking the MS tradition seriously at all, but approaching it in real life as it were a video game. I would really question who it goes too, because having a video game with a subject so encompassing as this one could have very far reaching effects- both good and bad.
Im just pointing out some potential pitfalls. Im not criticizing your idea. The good intentions are there, just that there is also the issue of how it will affect people's perceptions of this tradition, thats all.
Its a good subject, I think it should be discussed. Thank you Dana, for provoking a very thoughtful conversation!

I don't think it would cheapen it (of course that depends on how well it was done) I think it could potentially expose these concepts and teachings to a group that may not have run across it the "traditional" ways. Look at how many spiritual discussions have been provoked because of a movie like the Matrix. Hey, why can't serious spirituality be fun at the same time :)

Should we pull together a formal team that wants to work on aspects of it? It might happen with a bit of community motivation and I can say pretty honestly it will probably remain here 'in theory' if it is left to me alone.
I love all the thoughts, concerns, questions, ideas... I agree we would need to maintain integrity while keeping it fun and entertaining for the novice. I think a lot of that has to do with esthetics and style... it needs to be more that just a flippant cheapo vid game... it needs to be INSPIRING even if you don't understand the real 'meaning' and are just enjoying the quest and adventure of it.
What would be very helpful is if we had a team workout a bit more on the outline and structure but then open it up for everyone here to contribute stories, mini-plots, challenges, etc. that we can then work into the various levels. We need to have lots of different stories and adventures to choose from so the game is formatted as a web of experience, not a straight line. That way the game can be played different ways by different people (or multiple times). So everyone think of some little story line, puzzle to solve, scene to experience, etc. and I'll start collaborating it all. Think of your own experiences... how did you find a teacher... what challenges do you have to face... what are the various ways challenges can be solved... what tools did you need, when and why... what weird serendipidous situations have arisen from your training... what stories do you want to tell?

Sun, October 22, 2006 - 2:10 PMokay, im getting a better picture now. What my perception was that you would try to replicate the MS path with a game and having it be known that it was the RMMS, and I am of the opinion that that would have some negative effects.
But I see now that is not the intention or vision, and I think its a great idea to have the concepts initiates work with being presented to people in a different creative way. Like, RMMS- inspired vs. RMMS "The Game".
And you're totally right, things like the Matrix and other video games do present a lot of big ideas in a way that people can digest it. A well-executed game could bring these subjects to their level. I think its great!

Thanks to Dana, we have a kickass idea. Has anyone thought of going low tech and first implementing this as a pen(cil)-and-paper-based Role Playing Game, as a stepping stone in the development process? I think this would be a feasible way to test and solidify game mechanics (which will almost certainly involve rolling dice, using your imagination, telling great stories, etc.). That way, we can actually see whether what we come up with is actually *fun*.
For example, games like "Knights of the Old Republic" are based on a modified version of the the d20 Rule Set from the Star Wars RPG, which in turn was derived from D&D. See dw.com.com/redir This document is a great FAQ about how the d20 rules got implemented in KotOR.
As additional research corresponding to "thought" and the world of Briah, I might suggest looking at existing pen-and-paper RPG systems (Shadowrun comes to mind, but there are many others), going to websites like IGN or Gamespot and reading reviews of console or PC RPGs, not to mention actually investing in a console and spending some time playing some games to see what's out there, what's possible, and what hasn't been done yet.

I wonder what kind of tasks or energy exchange the characters could do? I can see a lot of healers who aren't making any money that then meet a promoter who helps them succeed. and then you could have a Light Council upgrade to that where you have a more effective support team. I can also see other trades like musician and artist with similar challenges. Another vocation might be Food and you could go from making really awful food called "grub" or "fried glop" and it could effect your health meter in humorous ways. (for instance fried glop will temporarily give you life energy but deaden your psychic abilities meter. With an upgrade to "basic food combining" you can make a "Decent meal" then you could go to "Good Meal" , "Fine Cuisine" and "Sacred Meal" you could also include antimony upgrades and "Journey to Zero Point" or other fasting upgrades. Under fine cuisine you could have a vegan dish or a raw food entree etc. Anyway food for thought,

Thu, December 14, 2006 - 1:39 AMI guess I'm feeling inspired tonight, another thought just occured to me about the end of the game the GOD mode. Have you seen many Sim games? Also the end of completing the game Starcraft Broodwar has a "god mode" where you can make yourself invincible and manifest infinite wealth , Creatures, Crystals and Vespene gas and also gives you a template to create a new world of your own design. You might want to check that out.
Also for navigation, especially in RM levels and above. It might be wise to have both an action interface as well as a Map interface that shows more things based on the psychic awareness of things. Particularly based on distance. So lower levels might miss something completely especially in a certain type of psychic awareness (5 senses) then the initiate can begin to sense things coming or up ahead a distance say 9 ft then 500 ft etc. and farther along they can pinpoint farther away -say in another area of the globe! This could apply to contacting someone avoiding a danger or finding a useful object. -

Bringing in elemental beings would definately bring in more interest. Hmmm tricky, but fun. Certainly their are lots of folks who are "touched by the fae" in the world for instance.

I also heard of a computer system that is in test mode right now for pilots to fly planes by thinking the direction that they want the plane to go.

And then this whole thing gets really effective as a training tool even if they just think it's a just a game. Plus initiates would be so well prepared... I mean it would essetially be a very high tech training module.
So lets all visualize funding and the right computer geeks... abundantly.
